Treat Your Chipped Tooth By Doing These Things

If you’ve chipped one of your chompers, you might be feeling quite a bit of nerves right now. But don’t worry—everything will be OK. Our Hansen Dental Care dental team has the tools, techniques, and skills needed to treat your tooth and improve your oral health. However, it’s best if you do all you can to improve your situation as much as possible—and that starts by having a cool head.

The first thing you should do is call Dr. Robert E. Hansen Jr., DDS and schedule an appointment. It’s best to see him as soon as possible so he can treat your tooth. When you come into our office for your appointment, don’t forget to bring the pieces of your tooth with you. This means you need to do your best to save the pieces of your tooth and keep them in a safe place until your appointment.

The second thing you should do is stop the bleeding and reduce the swelling. In order to stop the bleeding, place a gauze pad on the area and apply gentle pressure. Do this until the pad fills with blood. Once this happens, replace the dirty pad with a clean pad and repeat this process. In order to reduce swelling, ice outside the injured area with an ice pack or cold compress in 15-minute intervals.

Once you come into our office, you’ll be on your way to completely treating your chipped tooth in Pasadena, California. For more information and details about the treatments used to treat chipped teeth, please call our office at 626-793-2273 at your earliest convenience. We also encourage you to call our office if you need additional help. We look forward to helping you!
